24 July, 2003 Press Release "JMPD property to stay"- Joburg Today the City of Johannesburg dismissed labour union's yesterday attempts to attach property of the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) as a "storm in a cup of tea." Council said it had applied for the stay of the execution at the labour court and was confident that the court will rule in its favour since the dispute was still on appeal. The CCMA arbitrator awarded the order without hearing argument of the Council. Council then appealed to the labour court. ENDS.
