21 May 2004 Press Release Metro Mall ­ All parties committed to a resolution An urgent meeting involving various stakeholders in government and taxi industry took place at Metro centre this afternoon. Representative of Gauteng Provincial government, the City of Johannesburg, the Greater Johannesburg Regional Taxi Council and MTC met to discuss the difficulties experienced at Metro Mall. A positive willpower to jointly resolve problems at all levels and as quickly as possible was clearly demonstrated. A further meeting with other stakeholders is scheduled for tomorrow to take the process forward and to address all concerns in the interest of the passengers, the taxi industry and all citizens of Johannesburg.
