2010 World Cup Bid Announcement Celebration South Africans all over the country and the world at large are waiting in great anticipation for the announcement of the 2010 bid on 15 May 2004. Whilst everybody in various provinces in the country will be holding their breath praying for the bid to come to South Africa so will be the music lovers all over our country.

The City of Joburg Council has come up with a great plan, to ease the anxiety before the announcement of the bid.

The waiting will be done in style at Mary Fitzgerald Square at Newtown Precinct on May 15 starting from 10h00 until 16h00 and Mofolo Park, Soweto starting from 11h00 until 16h00. The city of Joburg has organized free music festivals on the day, the shows are coordinated by T.Musicman, Native Rhythms Production and Events Resource.

The people will watch the announcement of the bid through direct live satellite link on the screen at the festival. Soccer personalities will also grace the event on the day. At Newtown there will be a supporting band for the following artists: Jonas Gwangwa, Jimmy Dludlu, Tshepo Tshola, Mzwakhe Mbuli, Johnny Gleg, Vicky Simpson, Rebecca Malope, Gloria Bosman, Puz'ekhemisi, Thandiswa Mazwai and Kunle. Bongo Maffin will give full performance.

The line-up at Mofolo Park is as follows: Alaska, Mapaputsi, Pitch Black Afro, Jabu Weatherman, Loyiso & Mzambiya, Wendy, Mandoza & Chiskop, DJ Monde, DJ Fresh and MC Jay Phungu.

There will also be dancers representing different cultural groups at both venues.
