Mass participation in sport: Region F : Rosettenville/Southern Suburbs Hub

The Gauteng Department of Sport and Recreation and the City Of Johannesburg (Region F) intend to launch the "Mass Participation Programme" for the community of Region F (former Region 9), at the Wembly Indoor Sports Centre, on 2 December 2006 at 9:30. This programme will be known as "Rosettenville/Southern Suburbs Hub".

"The launch of this event seeks to highlight and encourage people of different backgrounds, young and old, active and inactive, abled and physically challenged to have fun and fitness together", said the Regional Manager: Sport and Recreation, Ms Nozi Lentsoane.

Ms Lentsoane further explained that the community will have an opportunity to know about the availability of the fitness facilities at their disposal, activities they may participate in promotion of programmes on a daily basis with effect from Monday, 4 December 2006.

Activities that will be available daily are the following:

Soccer, basketball, aerobics, netball, mini athletics, fun-walk, wheelchair race, netball, basketball, and arts and culture activities.

The Wembly Indoor Sports Centre is situated at Cnr. Marlborough Road and Eloff Street Ext. Glenesk.
