SINK HOLE - LILLIAN & SANDTON DRIVE

The Johannesburg Roads Agency wishes to advise all the road users that the above sink hole as reported this morning is being attended to. This service defect was as a result of a broken water main. The Johannesburg Water is already on site attending to the matter.

At this stage one lane of the three westbound lanes on Sandton Drive is closed- i.e. the most southern lane.

This will mostly affect westbound traffic towards William Nicol Drive. The worst impact will be for the afternoon traffic peak. Although the morning peak traffic (eastbound towards Sandton) will not be directly affected it can be expected that the spectator factor will also influence traffic flows in the morning.

Motorists (in both directions but especially westbound traffic) are advised to use alternative routes if possible during peak traffic flow conditions until the service defect is resolved by JW.
