DO NOT PAY AN AGENT TO PAY YOUR CITY OF JOBURG ACCOUNT City of Joburg account holders are advised to not pay agents to pay their accounts for them, but rather to pay their accounts themselves. "Problems have arisen when a group of account holders have paid an agent to pay their bills for them, only to find that the agent stole the money leaving these account holders with unpaid Joburg accounts”, says Mandy Jean Woods, GM: Revenue Marketing and Communications. "The City of Joburg has made it very easy and convenient to pay your account, so it is really not necessary to pay someone else to pay your account. Account holders can pay their accounts at any bank, at any post office, at any Pick and Pay, Checkers, Spar, Score and Easy Pay outlets, as well as at eight Joburg Customer Service Centres”, says Woods. Customers are reminded to always double-check the account payment details and to ensure that their account number is included as the reference number. If they do not use their account number as a reference then the City of Joburg will not know who the payment is from and the payment will not be reflected on the customer’s statement. If a customer experiences problems with any account payment they must call JOBURG CONNECT on 375 5555 with details of the payment. "It is very important for customers to keep a copy of their payment record or deposit slip. The problem will be easily resolved if the customer has the payment record, the amount paid, the date of the payment and the bank or pay point where the payment was made”, says Woods.
