CITY PAYPOINTS TO CLOSE FOR THREE SATURDAYS DURING DECEMBER Municipal account holders are advised that the City's pay-points will be closed for three Saturdays during December. According to the City's Revenue Department spokesperson Mandy Jean Woods the decision to close the pay-points on three Saturdays during December – namely Saturday 17th December, Saturday 24th December and Saturday 31st December – was taken as each of these days falls around a long weekend. "We don't anticipate many people coming in to the pay-points on these days. However, the pay-points will be open usual hours for the rest of December and January," she says. Trading hours for the municipal pay-points are 7:30am to 3:30pm on weekdays and from 9am to 11am on Saturdays. "We would like to remind our customers that they can make use of EasyPay outlets, such as Woolworths, Pick n Pay, Shoprite Checkers, major banks (branches, ATM machines and Internet banking sites) and the SA Post Office to pay their accounts on these (and any other) days," she says. These pay-points extend nationally so even while people are out of town on holiday they can make payments for their municipal services for Joburg. "We also want to encourage our customers to consider using debit orders as a means of making their payments. This is perhaps the most convenient way of paying," says Woods. Arrangements for debit orders can be made at any of the City's pay-points.
