NEW COMMUNICATIONS UNIT SET UP IN REVENUE DEPARTMENT
The City of Johannesburg's Department of Revenue has established a new marketing and communications unit aimed at improving the flow of information between the department and ratepayers.
According to the Acting Executive Director: Finance and Economic Development Mankodi Moitse, the move was one of a number of strategies being implemented to improve the overall performance of the department.
"We acknowledge that in addition to improving our systems and process, we need to improve our communication with our customers, the ratepayers. Very often there are problems because our customers don't actually know what their responsibilities are or what our required processes are," she says.
Heading up the new unit will be the City's former Director of Tourism and Marketing Mandy Jean Woods. Her appointment is effective from January 2005.
"Mandy has significant communications and marketing experience and with her knowledge of the City we believe that she will be able to make a difference in the Revenue Department. We asked her to move, and we are very pleased that she agreed," Moitse says.
