15 August, 2005 Press Release Provision of new bulk supply to Diepsloot community Johannesburg Water (Pty) Ltd, the water and sanitation provider for the City of Johannesburg is maintaining it's mission of providing quality water and sanitation services to the people of Joburg. A project to install a new bulk supply main to the Diepsloot community has been embarked upon, with support from Rand Water. This project is part of the Utility's overall investment programme aimed at improving service levels in previously disadvantaged communities. Due to the rapid growth of the Diepsloot community, a need arose to extend the main supply. On completion, this project would have eliminated the continuous difficulty of intermittent supply and poor pressure currently being experienced in the area. A sum of R6 million has been allocated to resolve this problem. The tentative commencement date is November 2005.
