15 August, 2005 Press Release Construction in Braamfischerville Johannesburg Water (Pty) Limited, the water and sanitation service provider for the City of Johannesburg, will be providing sewer and water for the new housing development in Braamfischerville. The results in the preliminary design report identified the need to augment the existing water storage capacity of the supply system serving Braamfischerville. It was estimated that the project would involve provision of services to a minimum of 18 000 housing units and estimated population of 90 000. To ensure that beneficiaries of the new are provided with water Johannesburg Water will be constructing a new 10 Mega litres (10 million litres) water reservoir. The new reservoir will represent an investment of approximately R6.7 million in infrastructure for this community. Consruction work on the reservoir is expected to begin in 17 October 2005 and would be completed by 17 November 2006. Johannesburg Water is committed to continually strive towards improving service levels.
