JO'BURG'S call centre was launched on December 1, 2001. The telephone number for general enquiries, complaints and fault reports is 375-5555 and the number for emergencies - fire, ambulance, disaster management is 375-5911.


  WHERE TO FIND US

THE Johannesburg Metro has scores of offices in every part of Johannesburg. Below are the key offices to deal with accounts payments and general queries. People's Centres have been opened in each of the 7 regions to provide more convenient local access.


The Rates Hall
Thuso House, 61 Jorissen Street. Tel: (011) 375 5555

The Rates Hall is the city's central payment point. It is open from 8am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday, and on Saturday from 8am to 11am. Payments can be made in the foyer.

How to find it:
On the corner of Simmonds Street, a block down from the Civic Centre building at the top of Rissik Street, and a block from the Civic Theatre in Braamfontein.

Metro Centre
158 Loveday St, Braamfontein. Tel: 407-6111 (switchboard). To query a service or an account, call 375-5555

Main offices of the City of Johannesburg. Payments can be made at the cashier's office in the foyer, open from 8am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday.

How to find it
Metro Centre is a prominent complex of concrete-clad buildings at the very top of Braamfontein hill, opposite the Civic Theatre and the old Johannesburg Fort, and a block up from Park Station.


Sandton Civic Centre

The most convenient office for people living in the north.

How to find it:
Across the road from the Sandton Square annexe to Sandton City shopping mall.


Regional People centres
The city is divided into 7 local regions, each with a Peoples Centre to provide local assistance to residents with city-related problems.
