REGION Six Sports and Recreation has organised a jam-packed day at the Moletsane Sports Complex to showcase the variety of sports available to women on Women's Day. The selection for the day includes basketball, rugby, volleyball, tennis, netball, soccer, handball, table tennis, chess, morabaraba and diketo.

Region 6 Regional Manager Sports and Recreation, Mandla Mdlalose, says 800 women will be taking part in the various sports, while up to 5 000 spectators can be accommodated. He says the aim of the day is to get women to try out different sports. Mdlalose says top sportswomen will be present to provide moral support and to act as role models.

Besides the entertainment provided by the sport, radio station, Jozi FM, along with Clover, will provide music to entertain the people. The festivities will begin at 8am with a street parade from the Jabulani Civic Centre, featuring the South African Police, Johannesburg Emergency Services, Johannesburg Metro Police and sportswomen. The parade finishes at the Moletsane Sports Complex.
