GO for a walk in a "Celebration of Life" at Zoo Lake - and help to raise funds for a good cause.

The third annual Hospice Association of the Witwatersrand fun walk takes place on Sunday, 28 May at Zoo Lake, on Lower Park Drive, Parkview. Entrance is R25 for the 4km walk, R35 for the 8km walk and R45 for the12km walk. The 12km walk starts at 8am, followed by the 8km walk five minutes later and the 4km walk at 8.10am.

Walkers can stroll around the lake with family and friends, or enjoy the company of local celebrities such as Maggie from Isidingo, aka Karin van der Laag; Miss Kwa Kwa, Makgano Mamabolo; singer-songwriters Des and Dawn Lindberg, with their dog Naledi; and actor Fiona Ramsay, who will be seen in the upcoming production of Thoroughly Modern Millie at the Civic Theatre.

"We are thrilled to have so many wonderful stage and screen celebrities participating in this big walk," says the project development manager at the Wits Hospice association, Desre Murray.

Walkers are encouraged to bring along their cameras to capture the event. And, of course, a picnic basket is a must to relax on the banks of the lake after the physical effort. The first 2 000 entrants will take home gifts from sponsors Revlon, according to a press release.

Entry forms are available from Dunkeld West Shopping Centre, Fourways Crossing Shopping Centre, Bedford Arcade and the Fourways Value Mart, or from the race office on 084 907 3964, or on the SA Active website.

Pre-walk registration takes place on Saturday, 27 May from 1pm to 5pm at Zoo Lake, or at 6am on the day of the walk. The closing dates for faxed entries is 23 May and for online entries is 24 May. For more information call 011 483 1068.
