moves to CBD

In line with its commitment to more accessible customer care, Johannesburg Water plans to move its head office to new premises in the inner city over the weekend.

JOHANNESBURG Water, the city's water and sanitation provider, will relocate its head office at 58 Frederick Street to new premises in the inner city to ensure easy access to its offices by the public.

The relocation to its new offices at 17 Harrison Street in the CBD will take place between Friday, 28 July and Tuesday, 4 August 2006.

"The new offices are centrally located and will ensure easy access by the public," a statement from Johannesburg Water said.

"The decision to relocate within the Central Business District shows commitment of Johannesburg Water to be associated with the inner city regeneration," said Baldwin Matsimela, Johannesburg Water's acting communications and marketing manager.

At its new home, Johannesburg Water will have all its departments housed in one building. "It will be a one-stop service station", Matsimela said, adding, however, that Johannesburg Water's downtown walk-in call centre at 21 Argent House, Loveday Street would not be relocating. .

Johannesburg Water also advised residents that the 24-hour help line will remain unchanged as 011 688 1500. The company has also set up a correspondence section at its walk-in call centre to deal with letters and e-mails. The e-mail address is customerservice@jwater.co.za.

Johannesburg Water apologised to customers for the inconvenience caused by the relocation.
