Road closure at Wanderers

Motorists are warned to make alternative travel plans if they're in the vicinity of Wanderers Cricket Stadium on Sunday, 16 July, as roads will be closed for the Jomo Cosmos International Tour.

ROADS leading to the Wanderers Cricket stadium will be closed on Sunday, 16 July for the Jomo Cosmos International Tour.

Scottish soccer team, Aberdeen, is to meet local football squad Jomo Cosmos as part of a double-header, at 2pm, followed by Glasgow Rangers against Mamelodi Sundowns.

According to Wanderers manager, Rudy van Wijk, Rudd and Atholl Oakland roads on Corlett Drive will be closed on the day and motorists are advised to take alternative routes.

"We are working [closely] with the the Johannesburg Metro Police Department and the Johannesburg Road Agency," he said.

Van Wijk said secure parking had been made available at James and Ethel Grey Park, and at Winston Ridge Park. Signs will mark the parking areas.

On Friday, 14 July Glasgow Rangers will be up against Jomo Cosmos at Vodacom Park in Bloemfontein at 7pm, followed by Bloemfontein Celtic and Aberdeen at 9pm.

Tickets for the Sunday games are R50, while seats in the grandstand will cost R150. They can be bought at the stadium.
