Pay your electricity bills, consumers told

You might be in a party mood, but bills still need paying. City Power urges all users to pay their electricity accounts or face being cut off.

THE worst party is the one where the music falls silent because the electricity supply has been cut off.

With the festive season already kicking, most people in Johannesburg are on holiday, sleeping late in the morning and partying at night. And some may be in such a party mood, that they could forget to pay their electricity bills.

Don't let it happen to you. City Power urges all those who have not yet paid their electricity bills to do so, before Christmas and New Year. Cashiers will be open until 1pm on Friday, 22 December and Friday, 29 December.

They will be closed on Christmas Day, Day of Goodwill and New Year's Day. Pay point will be operational form 8am to 5pm for Wednesday 27 December and Thursday 28 December and from Tuesday, 2 January 2007.

Consumers can pay their electricity bills at regional People's Centres. There is one in each of Joburg's seven regions. People living in the north can make their payments at the Sandton Civic Centre on the corner of West Street and Rivonia Road, Sandown.

Those who live close to the city centre can make their payments at the Metro Centre, 158 Loveday Street, Braamfontein or at the Rates Hall at 61 Jorissen Street, Braamfontein. Payments can also be made at South African Post Office counters and at Pick 'n Pay outlets, or through direct bank deposits.
