Zoo Lake roads to
close for jazz fest

Commuters in the vicinity of the Jazz on the Lake concert on Sunday, 3 September are advised to take note of the roads being closed.

A NUMBER of roads in the vicinity of Zoo Lake will be closed to traffic on Sunday, 3 September ahead of the annual Jazz on the Lake concert and people attending the event are assured that security will be tight on the day.

The roads will be closed from 6am until 8pm on the day for the free concert, part of the City of Johannesburg’s sponsored Arts Alive Festival, says Jazz on the Lake production manager, Graham Dickson.

"People attending the concert will be allowed to park their vehicles at the Civic Theatre opposite the Civic Centre where secure parking would be available. A shuttle bus will be available to ferry them to Zoo Lake."

The concert will start at 10am and no alcohol, weapons or drugs will be allowed into the concert area, according to Dickson.

"There will be zero tolerance and police from Parkview police station will be out in full force to ensure peace."

  • Barry Hertzog and Napier
  • Loch and Napier

  • 1st Avenue West and 5th Avenue in Parkhurst
  • 1st Avenue West and 7th Avenue
  • 7th avenue and 4th Avenue
