LOCAL artists are the focus of this year's Sundowner Concerts. Now in its eighth year, the classical concert series is organised by the University of Johannesburg's Art Centre.
Held on Mondays from 5.30pm to 6.30pm, the concerts are funded by the university, according to the arts department's Chris Smith, the organiser.
The concerts are free of charge and are open to all - even children can come and enjoy themselves.
Artists scheduled to perform at this year's concerts include pianists Chantie Snibbe and Pieter Jacobs.
There will be no concerts on 17 April or 1 May, because of the public holidays. They take place at the new University of Johannesburg Arts Centre, Kingsway Campus, Auckland Park.
For more information, contact the University of Johannesburg Arts Centre on 011 489 3627.
