IF YOU did not get to the People's Theatre over the school holidays, you can still get to see the plays, because the theatre is extending the runs of Little Red Riding Hood, Three Little Pigs and Rumpelstiltskin for ten days.
The final curtain was meant to have fallen on the Three Little Pigs and Other Stories on 5 October, but because of the overwhelming response from the public, the show will continue until Saturday, 15 October.
An outstanding cast, colourful costumes and clap-along music delighted the kids and those who thought they had missed out can now see for themselves what the fuss was about.
"The production engages children of all ages, encouraging the little ones to become interactive characters in the audience as well as on stage," reads a press release.
"Children will also have the opportunity to meet all the life-size characters in this contemporary production."
Although the cast gives a light-hearted adaptation of popular fairy tales, the main aim of the interactive format of the play is to encourage reading and a love of books.
The People's Theatre is located at the Johannesburg Civic Theatre Complex in Braamfontein. Performances during school terms and weekdays are at 9am and 11am and at 10.30am and 2.30pm on Saturdays and public holidays.
Tickets to the show are R60 and Kids Club members pay R35.
