JOHANNESBURG Stadium will be rocking this weekend, when South African music heavyweights share a stage to raise awareness about HIV/Aids.
African Musicians Against HIV/Aids (Amaha) and Kwaito Nation are set to get thousands of music lovers into the groove on Saturday during the Ekasi S'vukile Aids awareness and social responsibility music concert.

Mahotella Queens in concert
The stadium is in Doornfontein. The concert will feature gospel mega stars including Solly Moholo, Rebecca Malope, Vuyo Mokoena, Avanti, Amadodana Ase Wesile, Pure Gold and the SABC choir which will soothe the souls of fans.
But it is not all inspirational music. Getting the crowds on their feet will be kwaito heroes like Andile, Mandoza, Mdu, Doc Shebeleza, Mandla Spikiri, Arthur Mafokate, Mzekezeke, Zola, Brown Dash, Chippa and Mzambia, Mapaputsi and Bricks.
Afro pop superstars line-up includes Malaika, Mafikizolo, Ntando, and Mahotella Queens and Cassette. Hip hop giants like Mr Selwyn, Skwattacamp, HHP, Pitch Black Afro, Morafe and Wikid will also do their thing.
On the turntables will be DJ Fresh, DJ Thato, DJ Shabba and DJ Twasa.
Representatives of the Kwaito Nation organisation recently met Gauteng MEC for Health Dr Gwen Ramokgopa. She said there was a new group of youngsters who had just entered their teenage years who needed to be made aware of avoiding unprotected sex.
The concert is organised by Amaha and Kwaito Nation, in partnership with the SABC, the Gauteng provincial government, City of Johannesburg, Ukhozi fm, Lesedi fm, Eskom and Absa.
Tickets are available at Computicket for R50. No tickets will be sold at the venue. The concert starts at 9am, and runs until 11pm.
Cash generated will be used to boost the work of HIV/Aids organisations and charities dealing with child-headed households. For more information, contact Amaha on 011 484 7824.
