WOZA Monday - the next day is a holiday, and the electrifying Cell C Sound of the City concert is the place to be.
The Cell C Sound of the City tour kicks off in Johannesburg at the Sandton Convention Centre on Monday, 8 August at 8pm.
It features eight top Jozi artists - representing the different styles of music the city has produced. From the hit-generating sounds of afro-pop outfit Malaika to the kwela infused moves of Mafikizolo to kwaito superstar Brown Dash, there is bound to be something for everyone.

Heading the line-up is Don Laka. Also on the bill are the eclectic neo-rock band the Parlotones, the sultry jazz-tinged sounds of upcoming star Zamajobe, and alternative music's Karen Zoid.
Completing the line-up is DJ Oscar, whose influence on the Johannesburg music sound is both diverse and immense.
Other cities to host the Cell C Sound of the City include Durban on Saturday, 24 September and Cape Town on Saturday, 26 November.
During the two-hour, non-stop party, the artists will perform the hits that define them and their music. DJ Oscar is on the turntables, mixing through the changeovers and into the new sets - no words, just a musical MC.
"Sound of the City is aimed at providing a solid foundation for ongoing support and development of local music and culture," said Gareth Gordon Davis, the sponsorship manager at the cellphone network company.
"It directly fits into Cell C's sponsorship strategy, which focuses on South African music, arts and culture.
The Sound of the City concerts will give unparalleled exposure and profile to artists in each of the big cities, according to Davis.
Half-an-hour of each of the Sound of the City concerts will be broadcast on SABC 1. The Johannesburg event will be broadcast on Sunday, 4 September.
Tickets are available at Computicket for R70. Of the 3 000 tickets available, only 1 500 are on sale to the public. The rest are by invitation only.
