WORK has started on repairing and upgrading approach roads to two of Johannesburg Water's reservoirs and will continue until the end of the week.
Johannesburg Water, city's water and sanitation service provider, announced that the sand roads leading to reservoirs in Quellerina in Roodepoort and Hurlingham in Randburg are to be upgraded. The work will be completed on Friday 25 July.
The service provider will be re-grading the gravel roads on their property, repairing damage caused by erosion and "making the roads more user friendly".
"Residents will benefit from this project since soil erosion will be reduced and driving in the affected area made safer," said Johannesburg Water spokesperson, Jameel Chand.
Water supplies are not expected to be affected by the work, but residents would be informed if interruptions occurred, Chand added.
Residents can call Johannesburg Water's 24-hour help line on (011) 688 1500 for more information.
