IT'S Wednesday, with the weekend still days away, so what better way to kick back at the end of a working day than to stop off at Kilimanjaro to sip a whiskey and get into the dance groove.
Tonight night will see the second After Work Network/Connoisseurs Night Out at the high-flying club in Melrose Arch. The After Work Network is held on the first Wednesday of every month, hosted by Metro Fm, Sony and Kilimanjaro.
The evening is aimed at those with a taste for the finer things in life. Metro's All Access Breakfast Show's KB will host the evening, which will see a combination of poetry, comedy and live music. There will also be the opportunity to taste some fine whiskey and cigars.
Tomorrow night marabi outfit Mafikizolo will set the mood, taking a trip down memory lane with the 1950s sounds of Sophiatown. Nhlanhla Mafu, Theo Kgosinkwe and Tebogo Madingoane remain true to their musical roots with their new album, Kwela. Mafikizolo's last album, Sibongile, won three Metro Fm awards and two Sama awards.
Also performing tomorrow is Feela Sistah, the female spoken-word collective that is steadily building a reputation on South Africa's poetry circuit for their cutting-edge work.
Funnyman Joey Rasdien, of SABC1's Pure Monate Show, will provide the laughs, while DJ Glen Lewis and DJ Rampage will work the turntables late into the night.
Kilimanjaro's doors open at 6pm and meals are available. Five lucky listeners to Metro Fm's All Access Breakfast Show can win a dinner date with Mafikizolo and the All Access Breakfast show team.
